Check Out this Podcast: i might go to the beach
Nick Jackson has started a podcast. Here’s what he has to say about it:
A couple of years ago my friend Effie and I were waiting for the subway and she asked if I had listened to the latest episode of This American Life, to which I responded, “What is This American Life?” Later in Virginia, in my cubicle and in my car, I listened, embarrassed that I hadn’t before realized talk radio existed that wasn’t about the Washington Redskins.
I visited a podcast website and found others eventually, including, thankfully, Uhh Yeah Dude, and became totally obsessed. I listened to every (361 at the time) hour-long episode. When I finished listening to every episode I listened to every episode again.
In January I moved to California. I thought I would finally start a podcast because I kept thinking and saying I was going to do it. I called friends and recorded the phone calls. They were bad. I’m not good at talking to people and worse when it’s being recorded. I decided I would wait until they were good before releasing them, but if I waited until they were good before releasing them I would never release them, so I recorded more (thanks to my friend Bryan) and I’m releasing them now.
It’s called i might go to the beach. You can find it on iTunes or the direct link is here. If you have thoughts, questions, or concerns imightgotothebeach@gmail.com is the e-mail address I made.
